Babs Moossa rallied from far off the pace to nip Triumphant Flight by a nose Wednesday in the $125,000 Graduation Stakes for 2-year-olds at Del Mar. Jenny Craig Inc. co-Founder Sid Craig dies (AP)
Sid Craig, the co-founder of Jenny Craig Inc., who built the weight loss company with his wife and was a prominent thoroughbred horse owner has died, the company said Tuesday. Craig died Monday in San Diego following a long illness. He was 76. Sid and Jenny Craig founded Jenny Craig Inc. in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia.

Suspension cut in half for jockey who struck horse (AP)
The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission has cut in half a jockey's suspension for whipping his horse in the face. Jeremy Rose, who won the 2005 Preakness and Belmont Stakes aboard Afleet Alex, was initially suspended for six months after he struck Appeal to the City in the face on June 23 as she ran a race, eventually finishing third.

A system for tracking injuries to thoroughbred racehorses is being enacted on a national level. The Jockey Club on Tuesday announced the launch of the Equine Injury Database system for monitoring on-track racing injuries. Most major tracks already have been keeping track of injury data for the past year in a pilot program.

Rain postpones TD Banknorth 250 until Monday (AP)
The TD Banknorth 250 featuring NASCAR's Kevin Harvick against a field of top local and regional drivers was postponed Sunday because of rain. Race officials said qualifying heats would resume Monday afternoon, weather permitting. Rain remained in the forecast and there was a flash flood watch in effect through Monday evening.
