Travers winner Arrogate impressed onlookers once again Tuesday morning when he worked in company with stablemate and fellow G1-winner Mor Spirit at Santa Anita.

The Daily Racing Form timed Arrogate’s workout in 1:10.95 for six furlongs. Equibase has the time officially as 1:11.20.

As he did last week, Arrogate continued to gallop past six furlongs; Mike Welsch of the DRF timed him completing seven furlongs in 1:24 and galloping out a mile in 1:37.10. Rafael Bejarano was aboard for the work.

Arrogate continued to gallop around the track to the sixteenth pole before being pulled up.

“He’s got some serious lungs,” trainer Bob Baffert told the Form afterwards. “His heart, the way it must pump out blood, must be something.”

“He went off a little quick today,” Baffert said, “but I wanted him closer to the other horse.

“He can turn it on and shut it off whenever you want, which is a big plus.”

According to Equibase, Mor Spirit completed the six furlongs in 1:12.20.
